About the Role

Our client, an established engineering firm in Austin, is hiring a Structural Senior Project Manager. You’ll lead structural engineering projects from start through construction, making sure every project is delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

You’ll also play a key role in business development: preparing structural fee proposals, building new client relationships, and strengthening existing ones. This role offers a clear path for advancement, with potential to grow into leadership of the structural engineering department.

What You’ll Do

Project management

  • Serve as Engineer of Record on assigned projects, especially the firm’s larger and more complex work

  • Oversee design and production of structural construction documents for accuracy, code compliance, and quality

  • Plan timelines, budgets, and resources with other project managers to deliver projects on time

  • Perform thorough QA/QC reviews of all engineering work and documents under your supervision

Team leadership and mentoring

  • Lead and direct engineers through design and production, providing guidance and mentorship

  • Build a collaborative team where engineers grow their technical and professional skills

Technical expertise and collaboration

  • Stay current on industry standards, building codes, and new structural engineering practices

  • Work with architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to carry out structural designs successfully

Business development and client relations

  • Prepare and present structural fee proposals for new projects

  • Develop new client relationships and strengthen existing partnerships

  • Support networking, marketing, and client outreach to drive company growth

What You’ll Need

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architectural or Civil Engineering with an emphasis on structures

  • 10+ years of structural engineering design and project management experience

  • Proven experience managing multiple projects and teams

  • Strong experience overseeing construction document production and performing QA/QC reviews

  • Expertise in structural analysis and design software such as Revit, RAM Structural System, and RISA

  • Strong knowledge of building codes and standards such as AISC, ACI, and IBC

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required; Structural Engineer (SE) license a plus

  • Authorization to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship
